Veritas uses the Q12 from Gallup

General

I am partial to the Gallup Q12 employee engagement survey.  It’s a great tool to be using.

  • It takes a bunch of subjective opinions from people and makes yes and no metrics.
  • It’s based on millions of dollars of research and science
  • It’s fast to complete- it only takes about 7 minutes per team member
  • It’s simple, easy to read and interpret the results with the right people around the table
  • It can give simple solutions to improve employee engagement

Also, it costs money, it takes time, and it holds everyone accountable

But I’ll go back to the first one.  Instead of some people around of an executive table giving their opinions of how they think they should improve engagement and spend resources, Gallups and their coaches give clear systems and answers that are verifiable.

I see a lot of companies and executives doing stuff to improve culture based completely on their own bias, phase of life, economic status and childhood desires.

I’m pretty sure your company doesn’t need another kumbaya moment, and what your employees actually want is for you to spend 2 hours updating their current job descriptions which you may not even have updated this decade.
