Favorite Books
Nine Lies About Work by Marcus Buckingham
This book is so straightforward and databased, it’s a little scary. I think it is absolutely a must read for anyone who works with and manages people.
The Cost of Discipleship by Dietrich Bonhoeffer
This is my favorite personal book, as I find it incredibly impactful. Bonhoeffer only wrote 2 1/2 books before he died in Germany at a concentration camp in World War II while living out his Christian convictions. He was never trying to be famous and his book takes on a whole new meaning after you understand his convictions.

Favorite Books
Primal Leadership by Daniel Goleman, Richard Boyatzis, & Annie McKee
One of the reasons I like this book is because it reinforces my belief that leadership is not completely a cognitive function, it is mostly emotional, and learning leadership is done in the emotional (limbic) part of the brain and not the cortex (executive brain).
I also like 100 Things Every Presenter Needs to Know about People by Susan Weinschenk. As a social psychologist, she has provided insight into how people think and learn, are influenced, are motivated to action, and how they react to their environment.
